Protea Lodges by Marriott is marking its fortieth anniversary with the opening of two properties on the continent: its first lodge in Angola, situated within the capital metropolis of Luanda, and one in Pretoria, South Africa.

The openings broaden the model’s footprint to over 60 properties throughout 9 African international locations.

Protea by Marriott Luanda options 84 guestrooms and suites, a restaurant serving a fusion of Portuguese and Angolan cuisines, a rooftop bar with panoramic metropolis views, a completely geared up fitness center and an outside pool with a waterfall. The lodge’s inside design incorporates up to date furnishings in African-style terracotta colours and furnishings made with domestically sourced supplies in addition to work by famend Angolan artist Guilherme Mampuya.
